So yesterday I had yet another appointment. Everything went well and is moving along...slowly if I might add. However progress is progress. I'm not 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced. Which mean usually once you reach 3-4 cm dilated you're in active labor which is when most women are admitted and allowed to remain in the hospital without being sent home. (that's a good thing!) 10 cm is where you want to be by the time you start pushing for the baby to come. Once you're in active labor 1 cm per hour is what the doctors like to see, but I've been talking to God and we discussed I can move a little faster than that :-) Effacement is the thinning out of the cervix and you want to be 100% effaced as well. Considering I'm 75% I don't have far to go.
Here's a good picture of what it's like to be thinning and to be about 2-3 cm dilated.
9 days to go. . .
